dc.description.abstract The Archives of University College Dublin preserve a large collection of manuscript material relating to Fr Luke Wadding, historian of the Franciscan Order, and his correspondents. These manuscripts are part of a major conservation programme conducted in conjunction with the Friars Minor of the Province of Ireland. Correspondence to and from Wadding is also kept at the Vatican Library; the Archivio Generale at the General Curia of the Friars Minor, rome; the Biblioteca Landiana, Piacenza; the Biblioteca nazionale, naples; the Biblioteca Ambrosiana, Milan; the Archives of the Bollandists, Brussels; the Archives Générales du royaume, Brussels; the Von Harrach Archive, Vienna; and the Franciscan friary of St Jerome in Vienna.2 The following documents belong to an important period in Wadding’s life between 1647 and 1654. en
