Abstract
This chapter discusses how acquisition, transportation and usage of objects are important in the construction of the sense of home in migration. Objects contribute to the sense of continuity as well as creating ruptures in experiences of displacement. The literature into home-objects offers valuable insights into the relationship between objects with individuals, nations and relationships. This chapter argues how homeobjects help migrants to distinguish between what makes certain spaces homely and unhomely and the ways in which these meanings intersect with gender, race and displacement.
