Abstract
The present work deals with the analysis of flow characteristics and chemical reaction kinetics of catalytic oxidation of volatile organic compounds such as propane inside a microreactor using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) package of ANSYS Fluent. A suitable geometry out of some applicable shapes for flow manifolds is taken up for further simulation. Reaction isotherms and isokinetic curves are determined to analyze the effects of various flow parameters such as flow regime and manifold inlet flow velocity and kinetic parameters such as reactant conversion with effect of change in temperature.
