Abstract
This report examines the socio-economic dimensions of the land-use system in Ireland. This is a vast and complex topic, and it is not feasible in a short review of evidence to consider every relevant topic and every issue with the same level of detail. Instead, this report aims to highlight that land-use is a complex system with multiple elements and interrelationships. In this report, we adopt a ‘capitals framework’ as a means of capturing land as a fundamental resource underpinning economic capital, social capital, cultural capital and natural capital.
