Abstract
This paper looks at the broad history of Orangeism and Unionism from the beginning
of the Orange tradition at the end of the seventeenth century, to the present
issues facing us today at the beginning of the twenty-first century.
I look at some of the major events in this period to see how they were understood
then and how they are received now.[Extract from introduction]
