The call for papers of this Belgeo issue focused on the following questions: how and to what extent does studying China within the context of Belgian academia influence the process and outcomes of knowledge production? How does knowledge produced through transnational exchanges and by researchers straddling different spaces affect the researchers involved, both in research and teaching? How does this affect their aspirations, approaches and conceptions of geography?
