The psychosocial needs of adults living with muscular dystrophy and similar neuromuscular conditions

This project was designed to identify and raise awareness of the psychological and social challenges experienced by people living with muscular dystrophy (MD) and similar neuromuscular conditions (NMC). We conducted an anonymous online survey in adults living with these conditions and gathered data from 90 participants. Our primary aim was to assess individuals’ needs, including their quality of life, social support, and levels of depression and anxiety. We also explored the coping strategies they use and their experiences with stigma due to their health condition.
