The programmes have only limited success in fostering transnational union action. We conclude that the limited transformative impact of unions’ training programmes is not for the most part due to lack of resources. Rather, their narrow pedagogical focus on technical knowledge and skills crowds out the development of knowledge about social mobilization and the construction of attitudes of solidarity between unions.||Funding Details:||Irish Research Council||Type of material:||Journal Article||Publisher:||Sage||Journal:||European Journal of Industrial Relations||Volume:||23||Issue:||3||Start page:||243||End page:||259||Copyright (published version):||2017 the Authors||Keywords:||Cross-border collaboration; EWC; Germany; Ireland; Revitalization; Solidarity; Trade union education; Transnational collective action||DOI:||10.1177/0959680117694285||Language:||en||Status of Item:||Peer reviewed|
