These have the potential to democratise and expand application development to those without programming skills. However, while such tools allow end-user developers to build language understanding and dialog management capability into a CUI application, actually fulfilling or executing an action still requires programmatic API integration. In this paper, we look at how CUI builders that claim to be ``no code required'' struggle to yield more than toy examples, with an aim to provoke the community to develop better tools for CUI creation.||Funding Details:||Trinity College Dublin (TCD)||Type of material:||Conference Publication||Publisher:||ACM||Copyright (published version):||2020 the Authors||Keywords:||Conversational user interfaces; Chatbots; User interface design||DOI:||10.1145/3405755.3406140||Other versions:||https://cui2020.com/||Language:||en||Status of Item:||Peer reviewed||Is part of:||CUI '20: Proceedings of the 2nd Conference on Conversational User Interfaces||Conference Details:||The 2nd International Conference on Conversational User Interfaces (CUI 2020), Bilbao, Spain, 23-24 July 2020||ISBN:||978-1-4503-7544-3||This item is made available under a Creative Commons License:||https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/ie/|
