Abstract
Having contributed to the journal as both an author and a reviewer, in January 2016 I began my editorial apprenticeship, as a new Associate Editor, under Professor Nightingale. Now six years later, with the journal in extremely good shape, I have no hesitation in crediting this to the leadership of Professor Nightingale. For the past eight years, Professor Nightingale has progressed several strategic developments and has done this with steadfast commitment, enthusiasm, and passion for the journal and for the profession. She has done this in an inclusive, compassionate, and inspirational way, and has always been accessible and supportive of the editorial team, reviewers, and authors. Professor Nightingale has previously recognised our past Editors-in-Chief, Dr H. Brian Bentley, Professor Peter Hogg, and Professor Richard Price, for the roles they have played in shaping and growing our journal. She now joins these giants of our profession in being able to look back on her legacy with the Radiography journal and on the wider impact it has on our education and training programmes, our research, and our clinical practice.
