Abstract
Tests were carried out on the quality and yield potential of Golden Delicious apples grown in seven different orchard locations in Ireland over five seasons. No significant differences were obtained for fruit from the different sites in terms of soluble solids and acid contents, fruit colour, firmness and fruit weight. Cumulative yield values were different (p<0.05) for the locations ranging from 37 to 56 kg/tree. Correlation coefficients between yield and soluble solids and between yield and colour were all negative and varied considerably from season to season.
