Genetic Operators and Sequencing in the GAuGE System
|Title:||Genetic Operators and Sequencing in the GAuGE System||Authors:||Nicolau, Miguel
|Permanent link:||http://hdl.handle.net/10197/8282||Date:||21-Jul-2006||Abstract:||This paper investigates the effects of the mapping process employed by the GAuGE system on standard genetic operators. It is shown that the application of that mapping process transforms these operators into suitable sequencing searching tools. A practical application is analysed, and its results compared with a standard genetic algorithm, using the same operators. Results and analysis highlight the suitability of GAuGE and its operators, for this class of problems.||Type of material:||Conference Publication||Publisher:||IEEE||Copyright (published version):||2006 IEEE||Keywords:||Genetic algorithms; Grammatical evolution||DOI:||10.1109/CEC.2006.1688494||Language:||en||Status of Item:||Peer reviewed||Conference Details:||IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation (CEC 2006), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, 16-21 July 2006|
